The steering committee has done its homework and is ready to kick off the certification process. Look for announcements of informational events and our online survey in the next few weeks. This newsletter outlines the steps to become certified. 

The steering committee manages the certification process. There are three major parts:

1. Community Risk Assessment. Complete the online risk assessment and time/investment surveys. Your aggregated answers are part of the Firewise application and will be used to create our Community Action Plan.
   
   No individual home or homeowner information is shared with any agency.
   
2. Community Education Events. The steering committee will organize at least one event each year.  
   
3. Track the work done each year, to meet the Wildfire Risk Reduction Investment criteria (minimum 1 hour or $33.49 per household for the year). See examples.

• Participate in the risk assessment survey AND the time/investment survey. Yes, there are two surveys!
• Learn more about firewise and home hardening at some of the web sites provided on the home page.
• Track the mitigation work you do at your property so you can provide an annual estimate each year. 
• Consider joining the steering committee. Fill out the information form on the home page to send us a note.
